MEET YOUR DOCTORS
Pediatric Dentist
A Hanover native who graduated magna cum laude from VCU, Dr. Gibson earned his DDS and completed pediatric specialty training at VCU/MCV. He's a dad to Carter and Beckett, and when he's not making kids smile, he's mountain biking, snowboarding, or cheering on the Caps.
Pediatric Dentist
Born in New Orleans and raised across the Southeast, Dr. Erika earned her DMD from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her pediatric residency at VCU/MCV. She fell in love with Richmond during training and now proudly calls it home.

COMMON QUESTIONS
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends your child's first dental visit by age 1 or within 6 months of the first tooth erupting. Early visits help us catch potential issues, establish a dental home, and get your child comfortable with the experience.
Our entire practice is designed to put kids at ease. Our team is trained in behavior management techniques, and we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas), in-office oral sedation, and general anesthesia for children who need extra comfort. Parents consistently tell us their kids actually look forward to coming back.
We work with most major dental insurance plans. Please call us at 804-321-6800 or email info@childrensdentistryofrichmond.com, and our team will be happy to verify your benefits before your child's appointment.
We're open Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm, by appointment only. The first patient starts at 8:00am. We close daily from 1pm to 2pm for lunch. We're closed Friday through Sunday.
The first visit includes a comprehensive oral health exam, a gentle cleaning, and a chat with one of our doctors about your child's oral health. We'll talk about diet, brushing habits, and any concerns you have. Our goal is to make it a positive, low-pressure experience for both you and your child.
Absolutely. Habit counseling is one of our core services. We work with both you and your child on positive, age-appropriate strategies for breaking thumb sucking, pacifier habits, and other oral habits that could affect dental development.
